Position Summary:
The Office Manager manages the day-to-day functions and staff of the practice. This includes but is not limited to; acting as a liaison between patients and practitioners, maximize patient scheduling and flow, monitor insurance processing, collections, and AR.
This position actively promotes effective and efficient operation of the practice while meeting or exceeding financial goals of the practice and/or the company. The Practice Administrator fosters favorable public relations with patients, parents, staff, dentists of the practice and all external customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages day to day activities and staff of the practice.
- Acts as liaison and provides support to dentists and staff.
- Assures maximized collection on daily basis.
- Monitors AR on a weekly basis.
- Keeps credit balances at minimum.
- Manages workflow to assure smooth and efficient patient flow.
- Assures compliance with company policies.
- Oversees inventory control management of supplies – dental and front office.
- Ability to evaluate team members and perform employee reviews with input from the dentist(s).
- Understands disciplinary/discharge policy.
- Ensures adherence to OSHA standards for safety and infection control.
- Assures compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
- Assures appropriate documentation of any patient complaint or incident and works to resolve issues following management policies. Informs Director of Operations of such.

Position Overview:
The Dental Hygiene Director will oversee and manage all aspects of the dental hygiene
department, ensuring the highest quality of patient care and professional development for dental
hygiene staff. This role is responsible for maintaining operational efficiency, developing
departmental policies and protocols, leading hygiene team training, and supporting clinical and
administrative functions. The Dental Hygiene Director plays a crucial role in promoting oral
health within the practice by strengthening the existing periodontal protocol that makes our
group unique. The Dental Hygiene Director also works to ensure there is complete compliance
with all applicable state and federal regulations concerning dental hygiene practice and patient

• Ensure that all patients receive top-tier preventive care, including cleanings, screenings, and education about oral hygiene practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the clinical performance of dental hygienists to maintain the highest level of patient care.
• Oversee patient treatment planning, especially for those requiring specialized care or
complex procedures.
• Develop and implement patient education programs to improve oral health outcomes.
Operational Management:
• Maintain and improve the workflow, efficiency, and effectiveness of the dental hygienedepartment.
• Apply updates and revisions to periodontal protocol for hygienists to ensure best
standards of care are being met
• Establish and enforce infection control policies and procedures in accordance with
OSHA, CDC, and state regulations.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations concerning dental
hygiene practice and patient care.
• Coordinate and ensure appropriate dental supplies are available and stocked,
collaborating with the office manager and purchasing team.
Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement:
• Track and monitor departmental performance through metrics such as patient satisfaction, treatment outcomes, and hygiene production.
• Implement and oversee quality improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing patient care and enhancing team performance.
• Conduct regular audits of patient records to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with professional standards.
Training and Professional Development:
• Design and implement ongoing training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge, staying current with new techniques, technologies, and regulatory changes in dental hygiene practice.
• Facilitate continuing education opportunities and encourage professional certifications for hygiene team members.
• Stay updated on the latest research and trends in dental hygiene to incorporate evidencebased practices into the department.
Administrative Duties:
• Assist in the preparation of the department’s annual budget, monitoring expenses and ensuring cost-effective operations.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to plan and implement strategic initiatives for the practice.
• Prepare and submit reports on departmental performance, including staff performance, patient outcomes, and financial metrics.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene (or equivalent) required; Master’s degree in a
related field preferred.
• Licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in [State] with a valid state license.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a dental hygienist, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, dental instruments, sterilization
techniques, and oral health education.
• Previous experience in managing a team and overseeing departmental operations is
highly preferred.
Skills:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of dental equipment and supplies.
Work Environment:
• This position will be based in a dental office environment.
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for meetings, training, or specialprojects.
